A little about ourselves
Author Tom Dirsa grew up on the tip of Cape Cod in Massachusetts and, after graduating from Colorado State University, he moved to Alberta, Canada for two years-which became a lifetime.
After a successful career as a teacher, basketball coach, and a school administrator that took him and his wife, Margaret, to New England, Saskatchewan, and many communities throughout Alberta, they retired to Leduc, Alberta.
Since his retirement, Tom has worked on his writing skills as a freelance reporter for a local weekly newspaper, taking writing courses, writing curriculum courses for Alberta's Distant Learning School, and writing books for children.
Sweaty Eyes, his first children's book released in 2014 by Dream Write Publishing, is based on a true incident involving one of Tom's grandsons who was diagnosed with ADHD early in his life. BJ is a real person who has a quick wit and is full of energy. The story follows BJ as he gains acceptance with his teammates..
Fishing Lessons for Grandpa is an interesting incident involving BJ and regales us with seaworthy fishing adventures. The boat, Cee-Jay, featured on the cover, works out of Provincetown Harbor on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The book is now available at the Provincetown BookShop and The Bookmonger in Waterville New Hampshire http://bookmongernh.com/THE_BOOKMONGER/Welcome.html The book was available directly at the Cee-Jay ticket booth during 2016. On June 19 2016 the book was ranked 23rd on Amazon.com for water sports.
